The PV bronze valve guide set is made using a proprietary bronze alloy, with superior friction resistance and mechanical properties. Using the alloys lends itself to a more predictable expansion rate which allows you to run a much tighter valve to guide clearance - as tight at .00008 - for improved lateral valve stability and reduced valve train wear.
The valve guide supports the intake/exhaust valve stem, stabilizing the valve and allows heat transfer from the valve to the cylinder head for more efficient cooling. This is why it needs to be machined with precision, for exact valve concentricity and durability.
